ANCHOR - FLK-8SS (8lb Stainless Steel Fluke/Danforth Style Anchor)
Norestar's Stainless Steel Fluke anchors are modeled after Danforth style anchors and feature a highly polished, 316 stainless steel finish. The result is high-performance, beautiful anchor. With one of Norestar's stainless steel anchors, you'll have the best looking anchor on the dock.
The fluke style anchor is one of the most popular anchors among boaters. In mud, sand, and gravel it has one of the highest weight-to-holding power ratios of any anchor. The fluke anchor features a tapered shank and chamfered edges that allow for deep seabed penetration in sand and mud. It stores easily in a storage locker or on a bow roller.
The fluke also makes for a great secondary or stern anchor.
ROPE - AR200-38 (200' x 3/8" Double Braided Nylon Rope with Thimble)
Double Braided Nylon Anchor Rope by Norestar™ is ideal for anchor rode setups or other application requiring strong, abrasion resistant line. Double Braided Line is generally stronger than three-strand and more comfortable to handle. The rope comes with a stainless steel thimble, professionally spliced, for convenient attachment to your anchor or chain. The free end is heat sealed.
This rope is not suitable for windlasses.
SWIVEL - MDAS-S (Multi-Directional Anchor Swivel)
An anchor swivel is an essential item to any anchor set up. The use of an anchor swivel prevents twisting of your rode while the anchor is set and also prevents your rode from snagging. Often your rode can be even more expensive than your anchor making the purchase of an anchor swivel a valuable investment!
Preserve your rode
Every anchor needs some sort of connection between itself and the rode (simply tying your rode to your anchor is a very bad idea!). Traditionally, this has been accomplished by some sort of shackle.
One problem arises from using such shackles: as the boat naturally turns while anchored, so too does the chain/rode. This rotating action inherently puts a considerable amount of strain on your rode, thereby decreasing its life. With the use of a multi-directional swivel, the swivel, rather than the rode itself, rotates as the boat turns which increases the life of your rode.
Smoother retrieval of your anchor
Our swivels are multi-directional meaning at the center of the anchor swivel also lies a toggle/bend. This toggle allows the anchor to shift to a more convenient angle when you are pulling it on to the deck.
When using a bow roller, our swivels also allow easier stowage of your anchor due to the bend in the swivel.
SHACKLE (5/16" Shackle)
This anchor shackle is constructed of 316 stainless steel and includes a screw type pin. To prevent accidental opening, the shackle pin should always be seized with safety wire (not included). The 5/16" size shackle is ideal for use with 1/4" chain. It is best not to mix stainless with galvanized steel.
