Anchor Rode Selection

When selecting an anchor line the rule of thumb is to have 1/8" of anchor line diameter for every 9' of boat length. For example, a 3/8" line would be appropriate for boats up to 27'. This is a general rule, considerations should be made for boat weight, anchoring conditions, and other such factors.

1/2" x 150', 200', 250', 300', 600' Braided Rope: Boats up to 36'; Breaking Strength: 5200 lbs

works well Review by Declan
Overall
You won't find rope like this at West Marine for this low a price! The rope did not kink up; it works fine.

Professional workmanship Review by Jaques
Overall
The quality here is in the professional workmanship and detail; this rope was produced my mariners! The whipping was done right and the materials are excellent. This rope is a real bargain; you'd pay way more at a typical boating supply store. Buy now!

Excellent Review by Karen
Overall
Could not have been a better choice for my Panga 25. Excellent. Remember to use seizing wire where the anchor chain attaches to the rope to keep the rode secure and get a plastic container to hold the rode.

Good enough for me Review by Medge
Overall
This rope is good enough for what I'm doing with it and looks very nice, but do your research. It didn't seem to be quite 5/8" compared to a Samson 5/8" rope. Take note if you are intending to cut up and splice eyes into this rope as I was: I was unable to bury the core at the join. A machine that stretches the outer cover open must do this for the manufacturer. I will use knots instead.

nice, but no spool Review by Pascale
Overall
Unfortunately this rope is not on a spool, so you need to unwind it as if it is for it to lay nicely. It has a good feel but was a pain to unwind, like other Chinese ropes I've had experience with.

No spool, but not expected at this price Review by Nolan
Overall
There's no spool, but I didn't expect that at this price, which is much less than a marine store or catalog. The rope is robust, just as described.
